  1. Data collections and uses
  1.  Our Taxi collects data from various sources to enhance the user experience and provide its services. This data is categorized into three main sources. Users voluntarily provide data during the account creation process, while another category includes data generated during the use of Our Taxi's services, such as information related to the user's location, app usage, and device data. Additionally, Our Taxi may obtain data from sources other than users, which can include data from other users or account owners, business partners, vendors, insurance and financial solution providers, as well as governmental authorities. To provide users with a clearer understanding of the data collected and its utilization, a visual summary is available.

  1.  Data provided by users. This encompasses various data categories, including user profile information, which is collected when users create or update their Our Taxi accounts or place orders via guest checkout features. This information may include their name, email, phone number, login details, address, profile picture, payment or banking details (including payment verification data), driver's license, and other government-issued documents, which may contain identification numbers, birth date, gender, and photographs. It also extends to vehicle and insurance information for drivers, emergency contact details, user settings, and proof of health or fitness to provide services using Our Taxi apps. Background check information for drivers encompasses data submitted during the application process, including driver history or criminal records (where allowed by law), license status, known aliases, prior addresses, and employment authorization. This information may be collected by an authorized vendor acting on behalf of Our Taxi. Identity verification photos, such as selfies or government-issued identifications like driver's licenses or passports, may be collected to confirm a user's identity, including through facial recognition technologies. Demographic data, such as birth date, age, gender, or occupation, may be collected when necessary for specific services or programs, like Our Taxi Cash, alcohol deliveries, or safety features that enable women users to set preferences for services involving other women. Demographic information, including age groups and household composition, may also be obtained through user surveys and utilized to offer Our Taxi products and services tailored to user interests. Additionally, demographic data may be inferred from other user data, for instance, gender may be inferred from a user's first name to enable safety features or to present personalized advertisements for third-party products or services. User content encompasses data submitted when users contact Our Taxi customer support, provide ratings or feedback for other users, or merchants, or engage with Our Taxi in various ways. This may include photographs, audio or video recordings submitted during customer support requests, and metadata related to the communication method used. It is important to note that the content of photos and recordings is subject to Our Taxi's Community Guidelines, with exceptions for users in Switzerland and Belgium. In certain jurisdictions, users may record the audio and/or video of their trips through an in-app feature or dashcams. In-app recordings are encrypted and stored on users' devices, shared with Our Taxi only when submitted by users in connection with safety incidents. Travel information, such as upcoming flight, lodging, or car rental reservations, is collected from users of the Our Taxi. This information is gathered when users manually input their travel details into their Our Taxi request for services and traveling itinerary or, with user authorization, from travel-related email confirmations. In cases of email account authorization, Our Taxi will access users' email accounts solely to collect travel itinerary information to enable the Our Taxi other traveling feature, adhering to applicable email provider policies, including Google's API Services User Data Policy, which imposes certain restrictions on data use. Users retain the ability to revoke Our Taxi's access to their email accounts at any time, either through the app or their email service provider settings.

  1.  Data created during use of our services. This includes: Location data (driver): We collect precise or approximate location data from drivers’ mobile devices when the Our Taxi  app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen). Location data (riders and services recipients). We collect precise or approximate location information from riders’ and services recipients’ mobile devices if they enable us to do so via their device settings. Our Taxi  collects such data from the time a ride or order is requested until it is finished, and any time the app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen). See “Choice and transparency” below for information on how riders and order recipients can enable precise location data collection. Riders and order recipients may use the Our Taxi  apps without enabling collection of location data from their mobile devices. However, this may affect certain features in the Our Taxi  apps. For example, a rider who has not enabled precise location data will have to manually enter their pickup address. In addition, precise location data collected from a driver’s device during a trip is linked to the rider’s account, even if the rider has not enabled precise location data to be collected from their device. This data is used for purposes such as receipt generation, customer support, fraud detection, insurance, and litigation. Transaction information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided; trip or order details (such as date and time, requested pick-up and drop off addresses, distance traveled and items ordered); and payment transaction information (such as merchant's name and location, amount charged, and payment method). We also associate a user’s name with that of anyone who uses their promotion code. Usage data: We collect data about how users interact with our services. This includes access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, browser type, and app crashes and other system activity. Device data: We collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion data, and mobile network data. This includes date and time, as well as the content of text or in-app messages. We may also collect the content of phone calls solely where users are notified in advance that the call may be recorded.

  1. Data from other sources.  These situations encompass various aspects of our interactions: Users who actively participate in our referral programs contribute to our data ecosystem. For instance, when a user refers to someone else, we receive the referred person's information from the referrer. They also enable other users to request or receive services through their business accounts, such as Our Taxi, Our Taxi Ride, Our Taxi Direct, or Our Taxi for Business accounts.

We also gather data from users and others involved in claims or dispute-related matters. This information assists in resolving and managing such issues effectively. Our Taxi collaborates with various business partners that help users in creating or accessing their Our Taxi accounts. These partners can include payment providers, social media services, as well as apps and websites that utilize Our Taxi's APIs or whose APIs Our Taxi integrates with. In the realm of financial services, Our Taxi works closely with partners involved in debit or credit card issuance in partnership with financial institutions. These collaborations are governed by terms and conditions disclosed in relation to the cards. For user verification and compliance, vendors provide essential support by helping us verify users' identity, background information, and eligibility to work. Additionally, they assist in screening users in accordance with sanctions, anti-money laundering regulations, and know-your-customer requirements. Our services extend to insurance, vehicle, and financial services providers, specifically for drivers, further broadening our partnerships in the transportation sector. Partner transportation companies play a significant role, especially for drivers who use our services through accounts associated with these companies. We also access publicly available sources of information to enhance our data resources for various purposes, including safety and quality. Marketing and research activities are aided by data provided by marketing service providers and data resellers, helping us tailor our offerings to user preferences and needs. Lastly, Our Taxi cooperates with law enforcement officials, public health authorities, and government authorities, contributing to public safety and welfare in various contexts.

Data plays a pivotal role in our customer support operations, enabling us to promptly assist users when they require assistance or have queries. Our ongoing research and development efforts benefit from the data we collect, allowing us to continually refine and improve our services. Data also serves as a conduit for facilitating communications between users, fostering interactions within our platform. For marketing and advertising purposes, we use data to tailor content and recommendations to align with user preferences and interests. Apart from marketing-related communications, we use data to send non-marketing messages that convey essential information to our users. In situations related to legal proceedings, we may utilize the collected data as required. Our commitment to user convenience is exemplified by the visual summary we provide, offering a clear overview of the data we collect and how it is employed to enhance your experience.

  1. In order to deliver our services effectively, Our Taxi relies on the utilization of data for various purposes, including but not limited to the following:
  • Account Management: We use data to create and update user accounts, ensuring that our services are personalized to individual preferences.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: We perform essential operating tasks, including troubleshooting software bugs and resolving operational issues to ensure the smooth functioning of our services.

  1. Safety and security. To maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users, we rely on data-driven measures, including user verification procedures that confirm identity and eligibility for transportation or deliveries by reviewing background checks to prevent the use of our services by unsafe drivers or riders. In specific regions, we implement Our Taxi's Real-Time ID Check, prompting drivers to share a selfie before going online to ensure their identity matches the account on file, and this feature may serve other verification purposes like confirming bank account changes or account access restoration. We also employ facial recognition technology to process user profile photographs, identification photographs, or user-submitted images, thus preventing identity misappropriation or unauthorized service use. Moreover, selfies can be used to verify users' compliance with safety requirements, such as the use of masks, via object verification technology. In some countries, riders are required to verify their identity to use cash and certain payment methods, allowing them to provide their ID number and/or a photo of their identification card for verification. We analyze data from drivers' devices to detect unsafe driving behaviors, including speeding, harsh braking, and acceleration, while offering guidance on safer driving practices. We closely monitor driver location information and communications between riders and drivers to identify and prevent fraudulent attempts to impose cancellation fees. In cases where drivers intentionally delay rider pickups to induce cancellations, we refrain from charging the rider a cancellation fee and adjust the driver's earnings accordingly. Our data also plays a crucial role in preventing, detecting, and combatting various forms of fraud, such as fraudulent accounts, unauthorized use of our services by drivers or delivery persons, identity verification for specific payment methods, and unauthorized account access. In some instances, user engagement in abusive behavior within Our Taxi's referral program or the submission of fraudulent documents may lead to automatic deactivation, especially in the European Union or where legally required, deactivation only occurs after human review and may involve an appeals process. Furthermore, we rely on user ratings, reported incidents, and feedback to encourage adherence to our Community Guidelines and as grounds for deactivating users with low ratings or violations of these guidelines in certain countries, with exceptions in Switzerland and Belgium. In the European Union or as legally mandated, deactivation occurs only after human review and provides an opportunity for appeal. To enhance user safety and experiences, we utilize driver and rider data, including past trip information, ratings, incident rates, account information, and current pickup and drop-off locations to predict and avoid pairings that may result in an increased risk of conflict based on prior interactions. Finally, we share relevant user information, such as name, location, phone number, and vehicle details, with third-party companies that assist in managing and de-escalating interpersonal conflicts that may arise between users during trips or deliveries. These activities are conducted with the aim of fulfilling user agreements and serving the legitimate safety and security interests of Our Taxi, our users, and the general public.

Additionally, Our Taxi allows users to request access to their data, obtain data copies, update their accounts, request account deletion, or ask for restrictions on data processing by Our Taxi

  1. Privacy settings

Within the Our Taxi app, riders and order recipients have the ability to customize their preferences for location data collection, emergency data sharing, and notifications via the Settings > Privacy menu. Location data collection, which pertains to both riders and order recipients, allows users to control whether Our Taxi gathers location data from their mobile devices, with this option accessible through the Settings > Privacy > Location menu. Furthermore, riders can determine whether to share their real-time location data with their drivers using device settings within the Settings > Privacy > Location menu. Our Taxi also affords riders the option to enable the sharing of their real-time location data with emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance authorities. This information encompasses details like the approximate location at the time of an emergency call, vehicle specifications, rider contact details, and pickup and dropoff locations. The feature's activation or deactivation can be managed via the Settings > Privacy > Location menu or through the Safety Center. Drivers and delivery persons can similarly control Emergency Data Sharing through the App settings > Emergency Data Sharing menu or the Safety Toolkit. In terms of notifications, Our Taxi offers users essential trip status notifications and account updates that are integral to the app's functionality and cannot be disabled. However, users retain the choice to select their preferred notification method via the Settings > Privacy menu. Moreover, users can decide whether to receive push notifications regarding discounts and news from Our Taxi, offering flexibility through the Settings > Privacy menus in the Our Taxi app. Additionally, while placing an order in the Our Taxi app, users can opt to share their contact information with specific vendors or merchants to receive communications from them. Users who embrace this option retain the ability to cease receiving such communications through the Settings > Account > Data Sharing menus in the Our Taxi app

  1. Device permissions

Mobile device platforms such as iOS and Android have established specific categories of device data that apps require explicit permission from the device owner to access. The methods for obtaining these permissions may vary depending on the platform. To ensure proper access and control over these permissions, we recommend checking the settings available on your device or consulting your service provider for guidance.

  1. In-app ratings pages

Following each trip, both drivers and riders have the opportunity to rate each other on a scale ranging from 1 to 5. These ratings contribute to an average score associated with a user's account and are visible to other users who either provide or receive services. For instance, rider ratings are accessible to drivers when they request transportation, and driver ratings are viewable by their riders. This two-way rating system plays a vital role in fostering accountability and ensuring responsible behavior among all users. Accountability is essential for cultivating a respectful and safe environment for both drivers and riders. In the Our Taxi app, riders can view their average rating in the main menu, and they can access a detailed breakdown of their average rating through Our Taxi's Privacy Center. Meanwhile, drivers can see their average rating by tapping on their profile photo in the Our Taxi Driver app. For additional information, please refer to this link.
